Acceptance of Terms

By using the Site or installing/using the App, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or App.

Eligibility

You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence (or have parental/guardian consent where allowed) to use the App. You may not use the Site or App if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

Description of the Service

PrivaDossier is a private, local-first mobile application for cataloging high-value assets (e.g., watches, jewelry, art, wine, handbags). Your dossiers (photos, documents, notes, attributes, reminders) are stored on your device by default. The Site provides information about the App and may collect emails for launch updates.

Accounts & Subscriptions

• Accounts: The App may not require an account to function. If an account or premium subscription is offered in the future, additional terms will apply and will be presented at sign-up/checkout.
• Payments: If paid features are introduced (e.g., via an app store or in-app purchase provider), pricing and billing terms will be disclosed at purchase. Taxes may apply as required by law.
• Refunds: Any refunds will follow the applicable app store or payment provider’s policies and applicable consumer laws.

User Content & Responsibility

• Your Content: You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and backups of the content you add to the App.
• Local Storage: Because the App is local-first, you are responsible for securing your device and any exports you make (e.g., PDFs, backups).
• Prohibited Content: You may not upload or store content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or that violates third-party rights.

Acceptable Use

• Do not misuse the Site or App, including attempting to access areas or data you are not authorized to access.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from the App except where permitted by law.
• Do not use the Site or App to violate any law or rights of others, or to distribute malware, spam, or harmful code.

Intellectual Property

• Our IP: The Site, App, and their content (excluding your content) are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
• Feedback: If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and incorporate it without compensation.
• Third-Party Materials: The App or Site may include third-party libraries or links. Those remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to their licenses.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data for the Site and how the App is designed to store your dossiers locally by default.

Disclaimers

• The Site and App are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement), to the maximum extent permitted by law.
• We do not warrant that the Site or App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content will be preserved without loss. You are responsible for appropriate backups.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Site or App. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any), or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitation will apply to the fullest extent permitted.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PrivaDossier and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site or App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the App or Site at any time. We may suspend or terminate access with or without notice if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Site, App, or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the App and Site ceases immediately; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will survive.

Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update the Site, App, or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (e.g., posting on the Site or updating the “Last updated” date). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Third-Party Services & Links

Third-party services (e.g., form providers, analytics, app stores) are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Select your governing law, e.g., England & Wales / State of Delaware / Hungary], without regard to conflicts of laws rules. The courts located in [Select venue, e.g., London, UK / Wilmington, DE / Budapest, Hungary] will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws provide otherwise. Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights under your local laws that cannot be limited or waived by contract, and nothing in these Terms affects those rights.

Export & Sanctions Compliance

You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or entity subject to embargoes or sanctions and that you will comply with applicable export control laws.
