This Privacy Policy explains how PrivaDossier (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use our website and our mobile application (“App”). PrivaDossier is designed to be private and local-first: your asset data is stored on your device by default.

- On-device by default: Asset dossiers you create in the App (photos, documents, notes, attributes) are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly export or share them.
- No selling of data: We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Website analytics (optional): Our marketing site may use privacy-respecting analytics or cookies to understand page traffic. You can opt out where provided.
- Support & waitlist: If you contact us or subscribe for updates, we process your email and message for those purposes only.

Scope
This Policy covers: (a) our public website at privadossier.com (the “Site”), and (b) the PrivaDossier mobile App available globally (the “App”).
Information We Process
App (Local-First)
- Asset dossier content (on device): photos, documents/receipts, certificates, notes, and attributes (e.g., category, seller, first owner, purchase date, condition grade, provenance). This remains on your device unless you choose to export/share.
- Reminders (on device): service/appraisal/insurance reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Optional exports: If you generate a PDF or export data, the file is created on your device and you choose how to share or store it.
Site
- Subscription / waitlist: Email address and any fields you submit to receive launch updates.
- Support: Email address and message content when you contact us.
- Analytics & logs: IP address, device/browser information, pages viewed, timestamps (depending on tools you enable). We use this to secure, maintain, and improve the Site.
- Cookies: Only where necessary for functionality or analytics (see “Cookies & Tracking”).
Purposes & Legal Bases
- Provide the App: Store and organize your dossiers locally. Legal basis (GDPR): performance of contract / your use of the App.
- Communications: Send updates you request (e.g., waitlist), respond to support. Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests.
- Security & improvement (Site): Prevent abuse, measure performance, and improve user experience. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Compliance: Meet legal obligations and enforce terms. Legal basis: legal obligation / legitimate interests.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers (e.g., email delivery, analytics, hosting) under contracts that require appropriate safeguards and prohibit use for their own purposes. If required by law, we may disclose information to authorities.
International Transfers
Where service providers are located outside your country (including outside the EEA/UK), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent mechanisms.
Data Retention
- App data: Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Site subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need to provide updates.
- Support messages: Retained for the time needed to resolve your request and maintain records.
- Analytics/logs: Retained for a limited period necessary for security and performance monitoring.
Security
We employ technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process. Because the App is local-first, securing your device (OS security updates, passcode/biometrics, backups you control) is important to protect your dossiers.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, portability, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your region.
Region-Specific Disclosures
- EEA/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): You may request a copy of your personal data we process via the Site (e.g., subscription/support). App content resides on your device; we cannot access it unless you share it with us.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise access, deletion, and correction rights for Site data we control.
- Canada (PIPEDA), Brazil (LGPD), Australia and others: Similar rights may apply. Contact us to exercise them.
Cookies & Tracking (Site)
We may use essential cookies for site functionality and optional analytics (e.g., privacy-respecting page view measurement) or advertising pixels if you enable them.
